Hiking and cycling options abound in Quinte West. Natural and groomed trails of every terrain offer opportunities for relaxing strolls or more vigorous fitness adventures.

Fitness Trail (8 Wing CFB Trenton) - Map It

This is an 8.5-km gravel walking/jogging trail located on the south side of 8 Wing CFB Trenton, which runs along the picturesque shoreline of the Bay of Quinte. The start/finish of the trail is located just southeast of the South Side Gymnasium.

Mount Pelion - Map It

Off Dufferin Ave.

Discover "Trenton's Mountain" located at Dufferin Ave. It is great for walking, hiking, and biking. Climb the observation deck for a panoramic view of Quinte West's waterways and surrounding countryside

Hollinger Park - Map It

This 25-acre park is located southeast of the intersection of Highway 14 and Bird Road. The park is hilly and heavily wooded with a mixture of hardwood and pine trees. There are marked trails throughout the park. There is a parking lot for visitors and a picnic shelter with tables adjacent to an open meadow with benches -- good for large group outdoor activities.

Centennial Park Trail - Map It

Located in Centennial Park, Couch Crescent in Trenton. Enjoy the calming effects of the Bay of Quinte and the stunning view as you travel this scenic route through the park, which links to downtown Trenton.

Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail - Map It

The Waterfront Trail makes its way into Quinte West along County Road 64 and branches off to parallel the 5.4-km historic Murray Canal. This section of the trail intersects with Hwy #33, also known as the Loyalist Parkway Heritage Route, and links to the multi-use Millenium Trail, crossing Prince Edward County. The Waterfront Trail heads north and directly into downtown Trenton.

Hanna Park - Map It

Film Street & Creswell Drive (Trenton)

This central 42-acre public park offers well marked nature trails. Enjoy a deep woods experience on this trail in the forest any time of the year. This trail is great for walking, hiking, off-road cycling, cross-country skiing, or snowshoeing. See Mother Nature at her very best.

Bata Island - Map It

Located just 1.2 km north of Frankford, along North Trent Street, the entrance to Bata Island can be found opposite Huffman Road. A walkway leads into the largely forested park, with trails splitting off that loop the island. Bata Island Trail offers peaceful trails with lots of birds and small animals to watch. It is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Compass Court - Map It

Beginning at Fraser Park in downtown Trenton, this attractive trail is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and accentuated by boats and yachts traveling the waterways.

Lower Trent Trail - Map It

17 km former rail bed

The Lower Trent Trail is located on an abandoned rail bed that runs parallel to the west side of the Trent River starting at Stockdale Road and continuing north to Glen Ross.  In Glen Ross, the trail connects to the multi-use Hastings Heritage Trail continues another 156 kms north to Lake St. Peter.

Riverside Park Trail - Map It

This trail is located on the east side of the Trent River between the two bridges on Ontario Street in Trenton. Developed in 2001 through a partnership between the Kiwanis Club and the City, there is a paved 3-metre wide trail with upgraded parking and landscaping. River Access.

Trenton Greenbelt Conservation Area                                           (Jack Lange Memorial Walkway) - Map It

3 km crushed stone

Starting at the Boat Launch at 441 Front St. (beside Century 21), this trail takes you up to Lock 1 of the Trent-Severn Waterway. The trail is perfect for walking, hiking or biking, not to mention boat watching. It is a particular favourite for boaters who want to stretch their legs on shore.

Bleasdell Boulder Conservation Area - Map It

Bleasdell Boulder Trail - 1.5 km round trip + 0.6 km link trail to the Lower Trent Trail

This crushed stone trail will take you directly to the Bleasdell Boulder, which sits as a silent testament to the glacial forces that brought it to this location. You will pass through a variety of forest types and will cross over the Big Boulder Creek. Located north of the 401 in Glen Miller along Hwy #33, this well groomed trail makes for a pleasant and scenic stroll. It also links to the Lower Trent Trail.

Sager Conservation Area - Map It

30 Golf Course Road

A short .3 km trail starts at the base of the hill and climbs steeply (96 steps) to a scenic 9 metre (30ft) tall lookout tower, offering spectaular panoramic views of the area and interpretive signage. A picnic shelter is available.
