Wastewater Sewage Facilities

The sewage treatment plants receive and treat sewage and wastewater. Biosolids are removed, managed, and treated. The major pumping stations pump sewage from the collection system to the treatment plants.

The City of Quinte West owns and operates four (4) Wastewater Treatment Facilities:

Batawa Wastewater Treatment Plant

Frankford Wastewater Treatment Plant

Stonecrest Wastewater Treatment Plant

Trenton Wastewater Treatment Plant

As a reminder, “non-flushables”, including items such as baby wipes, feminine hygiene products, paper towels, disposable toilet scrub brush heads, flushable wipes, and fats, oils or grease, should NOT be flushed or poured down the drain.

More information on the subject can be found by searching “Red Fish Route” on Youtube, where Quinte West local, Holly Tetzlaff, founder of the Red Fish Route (RFR) initiative, discusses her findings from testing the disintegration rates of commonly flushed items.
