In response to the extreme heat, the City of Quinte West has opened a cooling centre at the Duncan McDonald Memorial Arena in Trenton. It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day the high temperature persists. All visitors are required to wear masks and maintain appropriate physical distances while using the cooling centre. 
Splash pads are also open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily in both Trenton and Frankford.

The Carrying Place swing bridge will be closed until further notice due to a motor vehicle collision.
At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, three vehicles were involved in a collision on the Carrying Place swing bridge. As a result, the bridge will remain closed until a proper inspection can be completed.
Drivers who regularly travel County Road 33 will need to plan an alternate route.
