The City of Quinte West IT & GIS Services is responsible for the City wide (Corporate) and departmental applications within an integrated and secured IT infrastructure that provides dependable services to the citizens of Quinte West and City staff.  Technology, as delivered via the IT/GIS Services is key to municipal service delivery and is instrumental in the City's ability to meet its corporate goals and objectives.

Information Technology (IT)

The City of Quinte West has made significant investments in technological applications that has placed Quinte West as one of the leading municipalities in not just eastern Ontario, but the Province, with regard to technological advancement.  Since 2007 the City has initiated the following IT programs/applications:

  • 2007 -  PRISM Program (Municipal Emergency Notification System)
  • 2009 -  CCTV Program (2nd largest in the Province)
  • 2010 -  PRISM Dispatch - Web based Fire Dispatching Program
  • 2010 -  Municipal Wireless Network (largest in the Province)
  • 2010 -  GPS Vehicle Tracking Program
  • 2011 -  Public and Staff FLEX-GIS Website
  • 2012 -  Virtual Desktop Intrastructure (VDI) Program
  • 2013 -  CityView Building Management Program
  • 2013 - Internal Emergency Notification application
  • 2014 -  ActiveNet Recreation/Facility Booking application

The City of Quinte West will continue to further encourage technological advancement because technology is a very fluid discipline that is consistently changing and progressing.  The IT/GIS services is committed to providing excellent support to both the citizens of Quinte West, as well as City staff.
