Message from Mayor John Williams

On behalf of City Council, we extend greetings and we thank you for visiting the City of Quinte West website.

Since our election in November 2006, Council has completed a number of priority items, including the downtown Trenton "streetscape" project to help re-energize our downtown core, making it more attractive for our citizens and visitors. In Frankford, upgrades have been made to the Tourist Park, which is a welcome addition over the summer months. We are proud of our new YMCA, a 50,000 sq. ft. recreation and aquatics centre that includes a 25-metre 6-lane pool and therapeutic warm water pool.

Our City, situated on the shores of the beautiful Bay of Quinte, offers an excellent lifestyle and business amenities that make it a great place to live and operate a business. Quinte West offers a unique mix of rural and urban communities and is truly a "Natural Attraction".

Economic development is a priority in Quinte West. Our City offers a strong and diverse economic base with excellent development opportunities. We work closely with our partners, the Quinte Area Economic Development Commission, to attract business and industry to our community. We encourage you to contact us, and we would be pleased to assist your company in exploring available opportunities and sites in our area.

• Member of the Trenton Memorial Hospital Board of Governors for 12 years
  and Chairman for 2 years
• Past Member of the Quinte Health Care Corporation Board of Directors
• Past President of Trenton Rotary Club
• Member of Loyalist College Board of Governors
• Member of the Albert College Board of Governors for 10 years, Chairman for
  2 years
• Served as Member of Quinte West City Council, 2000 - 2003
• Elected Mayor of the City of Quinte West, November 13, 2006
• Married to Heather, a Registered Professional Dietician, and they have two sons, Ryan who is married to Allyson, and Brad
