Detachment Commander's Welcome

Introduction & Welcome:

Inspector Earl JonesIn 2004 I had the distinct honour of being selected as the first Detachment Commander for the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police. I take great pride in the men and women of this detachment and join in their ongoing dedication to provide a professional and respectful service to this community. I will continue to build on the strong relationship we have formed with all who live, work, learn, and play in the Quinte Area, including the men and women who serve this country based at 8 Wing Trenton.

I was born and raised in Port Hope, where I began my policing career in 1977 and served there until 1993 when I was appointed the Chief of Police for the Town of Carleton Place, becoming the youngest Chief of Police in the Province at that time. In 1999, I was appointed as Chief of Police for the Town of Perth and held the position for both towns for a period of three years. Since 2003, I've been a proud member of the Ontario Provincial Police, at the rank of Inspector.

As a member of this community, I am committed to continuing a service that the citizens of Quinte West can be proud of and encourage them to be active participants in our Business Plan to maintain the goal of providing safe communities and a secure Ontario.

Regards,

Earl A. Johns - Inspector, Detachment Commander Quinte West OPP
